I think David’s post could also be applied to other fields of study/non artistic occupations. However, talent in the creative world is so very subjective. As a result, it’s easy to get caught in the type of negative thought process that David describes.
I feel like “success” is a very abstract concept. Still, it’s easy for anyone to compare themselves to others and feel like they come up short in some manner. It’s also easy to lose sight of why we do what we do.
it’s because at the end of the day we love doing what we do, right? right.
